The Certificate Authority
The SORBS Certificate Authority (CA) is a self-signed authority which issues and signs certificates for email clients, browsers and web servers. The use of certificates enables data transferred between the user and the web server to be encrypted, protecting the privacy of the information whilst in transit. Additionally, applications (such as an email application) connecting to these servers know that they are actually communicating with the server intended, and not with some other server.

The "Root Certificate" for this Certificate Authority may be installed in your browser by clicking on the link below and following the browsers' instructions. This certificate needs to be trusted by your web browser in order that other certificates issued by the SORBS Certificate Authority are accepted without complaint.
